My Community Story

Growing up in my family meant we moved every two and a half to three years, at least. However, most of the first ten years of my life were spent living in or visiting College Point, NY. Over time, College Point became known as "Little Heidelberg," after a city in Germany, because of all the German immigrants coming to work for Poppenhusen. He had a five-story building, The Poppenhusen Institute, built to house facilities and classrooms for free adult evening classes.
